Becki LaPorte is a Strategic Advisor in the Fraud & AML practice at Datos Insights, covering the spectrum of financial crime matters.
Becki brings more than 25 years of financial crime compliance and business experience. She spent several years working in the banking industry before transitioning her career to the securities industry. She served as an Associate Director and Lead Compliance Trainer for FINRA, the largest independent regulator of the securities industry in the United States. She developed and delivered training and provided guidance and consultation on open examinations and investigations specific to fraud and AML. She served as the Chief AML Officer for Advisor Group (now Osaic), one of the largest networks of independent broker-dealers in the United States. Her team was responsible for reviewing and investigating activity across the financial crime spectrum, including AML, fraud, and sanctions. She worked part of her career in technology where she was the Director of Global Risk and Compliance for Computer Services Inc. Most recently, Becki operated her own consulting firm, advising and supporting firms globally of all sizes across a wide spectrum of financial crimes matters. She is a Financial Intelligence Specialist (FIS) and a Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS). She is a founding member ACFCS, serves on the ACFCS Advisory Board, and is a member of their esteemed faculty. She is also a Life Member of the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department in Rockville, MD.
She is a graduate of Penn State University and is currently enrolled at PennWest University in the Master’s Degree program in the field of Criminology, Behavioral Crime Analysis.
