Boston, February 13, 2020 The European Union’s Fifth Anti-Money Laundering Directive became law on January 10, 2020, and though it follows on the heels of the Fourth Anti-Money Laundering Directive, few if any EU countries are fully compliant upon the implementation of the new legislation. Firms that are included within the legislation for the first time have to put in policies, controls, processes, and systems to meet the regulation, while those already covered have to meet new guidelines.
