Requirements for Participation & Additional Information

  • Any vendor, financial institution, or fintech firm may submit a nomination.
  • There are no restrictions on the size or location of nominated firms.
  • Nominated innovations must be in production and must have been developed and implemented within the last two years (i.e., after January 1, 2023).
  • All nominees must permit Datos Insights to publicly announce and describe their innovation should they win. [Note: Datos Insights may request a follow-up briefing to develop appropriate communications and reporting.]
  • Datos Insights requires all nominations to be as detailed and descriptive as possible to ensure a complete understanding of the nominated innovation and support fair and objective evaluation. The nomination form has no character limits for any response.
  • A panel of internal Datos Insights advisors and external industry experts from financial institutions and media will evaluate award submissions. Evaluation criteria include level of innovation, competitive advantage, market needs/drivers, impact and value, and future roadmap.
  • Datos Insights understands that certain information may not be suitable for public release. Such information can be clearly marked in the submission and will be used only by judges in their assessment. Please note that omitting such information may result in lower scores.

Fraud

  1. Best Authentication Innovation: New solutions or innovations that deliver best-in-class identity proofing and user authentication, whether through transparent or user-initiated methods.
  2. Best First-Party Fraud Innovation: New solutions or innovations that deliver strong detection of first-party fraud abuse across account creation, credit applications, transaction authorization, and dispute intake.
  3. Best Transaction Fraud Monitoring and Decisioning Innovation: New solutions or innovations that deliver superior transaction fraud analytics, monitoring, detection, and case management solutions to protect financial transactions.
  4. Best Digital Identity Verification Innovation: New solutions or innovations that deliver exceptional individual identity verification in digital (non-face-to-face) environments using PII and non-PII information.
  5. Best Scam/APP Fraud Prevention Innovation: New solutions or innovations that deliver exceptional detection and prevention of scam fraud (including authorized push payments/APP fraud) on both sending and receiving sides of transactions.

AML

  1. Best Know Your Customer/Business (KYC/KYB) Innovation: New solutions, innovations, or datasets that streamline and enrich KYC processes for onboarding, servicing, and ongoing risk profiling and due diligence of individual and corporate customers.
  2. Best AML Transaction Monitoring Innovation: New solutions, innovations, or datasets that elevate risk-based AML transaction monitoring to detect suspicious or unusual activity indicating potential money laundering, terrorist financing, or other illicit activity.
  3. Best Sanction/Watchlist Screening Innovation: New solutions, innovations, or datasets that optimize risk-based screening of individuals, entities, and transactions against sanctions, Politically Exposed Person lists, adverse media lists, and other risk-relevant information.
  4. Best Financial Crime Investigation and Reporting Innovation: New solutions, innovations, or datasets that modernize financial crime operations through enhanced alert investigation, suspicious activity documentation, and regulatory reporting capabilities.
  5. Best Joint AML and Fraud Transaction Monitoring Innovation: New solutions or innovations implemented within the past two years that facilitate increased collaboration between fraud and AML functions through optimized data sharing, case management, detection, or investigation.

Financial Institutions

  1. Best Fraud or AML Innovation by a Financial Institution: New fraud or AML solutions developed and implemented by a Financial Institution within the past two years that deliver robust fraud or AML mitigation while supporting elevated customer experience and operational efficiency.
