As e-commerce continues to grow globally, so does the threat of fraud, driving merchants to adopt security measures that minimize fraud losses and deliver great user experiences. EMV 3-D Secure (3DS) provides a mechanism for merchants to authenticate users with their financial institutions during online transactions. As e-commerce continues to grow and evolve, so too must the strategies and tools.
This report explores U.S. and U.K. e-commerce merchantsโ perspectives and performance results on 3DS. To inform this report, Datos Insights interviewed 200 e-commerce merchants, 125 in the U.S. and 75 in the U.K., between July and September 2023.
