As an Executive Principal, you will be the face of Datos in the insurance market. This role requires exceptional subject matter expertise, commercial acumen, executive presence, and a trusted advisor mindset. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable advising insurance executives on complex challenges and translating those conversations into business outcomes, client value, and commercial opportunities for Datos.
Your work will include:
Commercial Leadership & Business Development
- Identify and develop commercial opportunities by sensing market needs, understanding client challenges, and creatively matching them to Datos’ offerings
- Build and leverage your network to position Datos as a trusted partner and generate new business opportunities
- Partner with Sales to own and progress the pipeline of client opportunities, shape and win client mandates, manage account strategy and expansion, design consulting engagements, and drive cross-sell
- Own relationships with key customers that comprise substantial parts of practice revenue; take responsibility for delivery, client satisfaction and commercial outcomes
- Regularly assess market trends, competitive dynamics, and client need to help inform how we position and evolve our offerings
Advisory & Leadership
- Provide consultation to senior executives and their teams on complex technology-related and operational issues
- Lead workshop sessions on general trends, best practices, and emerging operational models, or deep dives on specific strategic issues such as modernization planning or staffing impacts
- With the support of mid-career generalists, deliver strategic consulting projects to help key customers define and implement their technology and operational strategies
- Facilitate conversations between insurance executives to share insights on technology ownership, operational priorities, and efficiency
- Participate in client and industry speaking events to extend Datos’ reach and develop new potential client relationships
- Contribute to our library of published information, including best practices, benchmarking reports, and operational perspectives
- Behave in an exemplary manner to reinforce and advance Datos’ positive culture, market positioning and industry reputation
Requirements:
- Proven track record in consulting sales or business development with measurable success generating client engagements and revenue; ability and eagerness to work closely with sales teams
- Demonstrated track record of identifying emerging market needs, understanding client pain points, and creatively connecting services and offerings to client opportunities
- Comfort and enthusiasm being the public face of Datos in the market; ability to build and leverage relationships to generate business
- Demonstrated broad experience in the insurance industry. A focus on Life, Annuity, and Group Benefits technology strategy preferred. P&C Insurance knowledge and experience is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to advise senior level executives on complex business, sourcing, and technology problems
- Proven experience developing business strategy and leading transformation initiatives
- Known for improving the work of others through collaboration and thoughtful feedback; can mentor and elevate team performance
- Superior communication and analytical skills
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience, with time spent in leadership roles
- Bachelor’s or equivalent experience required, master’s degree preferred
- Willingness to travel
