Business Development Manager, Wealth Management and Capital Markets

Location: US (remote)

Datos Insights, an insights and advisory firm serving the financial services industry, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our growing Sales team and focus primarily on generating new business for Wealth Management and Capital Markets advisory services. This is a “hunter” role in a fast-growing part of the business and requires strong sales process and a tenacious approach toward prospecting and new client pursuit.  

The ideal candidate has a zeal for finding growth! Strong sales process, intellectual curiosity and joy in balancing autonomy and group work are all great predictors of success at Datos.

Desired experience and capabilities include:

  • 3-10 years of B2B business development experience 
  • The ability to engage C-level and senior leadership within client organizations 
  • A track record of overachievement on goals or quotas 
  • Growth mindset! Love building your own business through prospecting, appointment setting, creation of thoughtful presentation decks 
  • Strong IT skills (CRM, Excel, PPT, SharePoint, Outlook) with the ability to learn new tools in role; Proficiency with Salesforce.com preferred 
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, and strong organizational skills 
  • English fluency, a bachelor’s degree and a willingness to travel up to 20% of the time 
  • Experience in the wealth management, capital markets industry and selling a subscription-based model are a plus, but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect potential new clients and run sales cycles to generate new subscription and research revenue 
  • Investigate and understand the business objectives of potential clients in order to develop and demonstrate a solution tailored to their needs 
  • Effectively present the value of Datos’ products and services to potential clients using existing collateral, as well as self-created/tailored presentations, as needed 
  • Achieve sales activity and pipeline targets 
  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets  
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, forecasting data, and client data in the CRM 
  • Run crisp business management practices. Participate in a regular cadence of forecasting and territory planning on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis. Prepare for and participate in internal pipeline review calls to apprise management of client status
