Advisor, Insurance Practice

Location: US, Remote

Datos’s Insurance Practice provides insurer and vendor clients with insights and advice on the business, technology, and regulatory challenges affecting many lines of insurance, including life, annuities, property & casualty, and other specialty lines.  As an Advisor, you will support our team of subject matter experts as they work with clients through advisory conversations, research production and consulting engagements. 

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of industry expertise at an insurer, technology vendor, industry analyst firm, or management consultancy. Experience in P&C insurance with specific knowledge of carrier products and operations associated to maintaining these products and services is required. Knowledge of worker’s compensation operational needs and claims is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Datos’ senior experts as they advise clients on complex, technology-related issues
  • Research, analyze, synthesize and compare information to fully understand a topic area
  • Explore and identify solutions to client questions and requests
  • Prepare senior experts to facilitate and participate in workshops or speak at events on general trends and best practices in key product lines, or deep dives on specific strategic issues 
  • Contribute to our library of published information, including best practices and benchmarking reports 
  • Drive vendor selection process for our clients, including building request for information questions from high level business needs and developing vendor scripts that will fulfill upon client requirements
  • Working alongside our senior staff, deliver strategic consulting projects, helping key customers define and implement their technology strategy 
  • Maintain proficiency in P&C business operations and supporting technology that provides services for claims, core platform operations, distribution, and new business functions. Identify current or future problems or opportunities that clients might face

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on operations associated to claims, core platform management, new business, and distribution
  • Demonstrated ability to advise senior leaders on complex business and technology problems 
  • Knowledge of business tools, concepts and processes associated to P&C carrier operations
  • Proven experience supporting business strategy decisions and transformation initiatives 
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to research and understand a topic quickly
  • The ability to defend a position through facts and data
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with a team
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management and time management skills
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent experience required
  • Fluency in English
