The Opportunity
This Strategic Advisor will be part of the Datos Fraud and AML practice, supporting our clients and executing our growth strategy.
Strategic Advisors serve as a trusted partner to senior executives, providing strategic guidance and actionable insights, based on proprietary data, benchmarks, research, and industry best practices. This role requires industry expertise, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to translate complex data and research into practical, high-impact recommendations that drive business outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Client Engagement and Advisory
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior AML and/or Fraud executives, understand their business challenges, and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with product leaders and analyst relations teams at the vendors who support Fraud and AML capabilities.
- Deliver compelling insights through one-on-one briefings and presentations; occasionally participate in roundtable discussions, meetings, or similar events.
- Surface opportunities for consulting project work through client relationships.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales and account management teams in pre-sales activities and to drive engagement and retention.
- Partner with account management teams and research team to drive participation in benchmarking studies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine product offerings and enhance value delivery.
Research and Thought Leadership
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging challenges
- Work closely with research and product teams to ensure product quality.
- Support the research team in an advisory, editorial, or oversight capacity across major stages of content development, especially where the content is built off of findings from our datasets. Examples: determining scope, hypothesis formulation, and other research design tasks, as well as standard content creation activities—storyboarding, visualizations, writing and editing.
- Serve as an author and/or contributor for secondary deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7-10 years of AML and/or Fraud experience in a senior advisory, consulting, or leadership role.
- Deep expertise in managing financial rime risks, threats, and attack vectors as well as implementing innovative and diverse technologies, solutions, and approaches in tackling current challenges and achieving adherence to evolving regulatory requirements
- Experience advising senior AML and/or Fraud executives on strategy, operations, or organizational challenges.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop relationships with business and risk leaders.
- Business acumen and understanding of risk management strategy, operations, and leadership challenges.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Ability to tell a story with data and produce compelling material that captures senior executives’ attention.
- Comfortable with quantitative analysis, especially with the interpretation of key findings (e.g., can differentiate between meaningful and spurious data, can explain methodologies and concepts to nonexperts; good pattern recognition abilities).
- Strong network of AML and/or Fraud contacts across financial services firms and solution and service providers.
- Fluency with MS Office.
- Intermediate skills with Gen AI and a desire to do more as these tools evolve.
- Familiarity with Salesforce/CRM.
