The insurance industry crossed a meaningful threshold in 2026. Pilots have become production deployments, investment is increasing, and agentic AI, which barely existed in carrier operations a year ago, is already running at 17% of respondents. By most measures, the industry has moved.
What the data also shows is that deployment and differentiation are not the same thing. Most carriers are running the same use cases at the same investment levels against the same data problems as their peers. Summarization is working. The capabilities that change ratios, agentic workflows, AI-assisted decisioning, autonomous claims processing, are only just entering production.
